  279.     Definitely the ravings of a tormented mind.  But then, if you own a
  280.     microwave, you know what that's like.  An attempt at viewing the
  281.     humourous side of M.W.  ownership, this disk contains 8 cartoons and an
  282.     extra section called "21 Things Not To Do...." In all, you get 44
  283.     single-spaced pages of text and above-mentioned gfx.  Written on an
  284.     Amiga 500, using Kindwords and gfx on D-PaintII, you'll need Kindwords
  285.     or some other compatible WP program that shows these pictures in the
  286.     text to see the cartoons as intended.

  300.     This trilogy is a Christian-based Adventure/Fantasy story set in

  305.     Each book is in Ascii files, which expand to over 500 double-spaced

  476.     I recently assembled myself a Scram500.  Now I'm trying to ramify this
  477.   event, by attempting to scam some ram for my new Scram.  [loop-de-do!] In
  478.   some sick and ultimate attempt to beat the saying 'you can't take it with
  479.   you when you die', anything of real worth I have, is in the form of
  480.   knowledge held within my head.
  481.  
  482.     This doesn't buy one much DRAM....in fact, it doesn't buy you any at
  483.   all!!  [not legal tender...blast!!]
  484.  
  485.     I've made a few [quite a few, in fact!] 'phone-calls up and down the
  486.   east coast, looking for the best price on 1meg X 4 ZIPs, [which is
  487.   absolutely incorrect, I was looking for the best price *and* a pensioner
  488.   discount on same!!], and the smallest number of dollars I was quoted for
  489.   such devices, was $25....plus tax equals $32.  [damn you Paul!  DRAM for
  490.   Amigas is *NOT* a luxury item!!!  It's a consumable one.....ask any
  491.   Amigan!]

  493.     No pensioner-discounts either [alas!], nor any discounts for being a
  494.   Megadisc subscriber....it's a greedy old world.  So, needing to buy these
  495.   chips in multiples of 4 for the ramification of my Scram's ram population,
  496.   sees me staring at a figure of $128 per 2meg-block, which I suppose ain't
  497.   all that bad really, considering the cost of other ram about.
  498.  
  499.     Now, I know some people get a bit of a knee tremble up, when the mention
  500.   of 2nd-hand ram enters the conversation....and those folk should leave
  501.   this text now!!
  502.  
  503.     However, I couldn't find any 2nd-hand ZIPs either, they're not the most
  504.   prevalent item about.  You see, in the document -ation that comes with the
  505.   Scram, the author mentions that A3000s benefit from the fitting of
  506.   'static-column DRAM', and such fitment of those chips necessitates the
  507.   removal of the 'page-mode' ZIPs they have fitted as stock items.  This
  508.   makes these people 'prime targets' for people like me, who are looking for
  509.   1024 x 4, Page-mode, ZIP-packaged DRAMs.
  510.  
  511.     So, is there any 'prime targets' out in Megadisc's audience, or anyone
  512.   who knows where I might find 2nd-hand chips as described, or even anyone
  513.   who knows of a better price on these chips, [or anyone willing to
  514.   write-off such a purchase on their tax-exemption number?!?], or of anyone
  515.   offering ram-price discounts for pensioners and Megadisc
  516.   subscribers...........?
